Toalla Aurora - Indigo
Me llamo: Toalla Aurora
Soy de: Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca
Descripción: The Sosa family is proud to continue and modernize the traditional weaving traditions of the Zapotec people of Oaxaca. Reynaldo grinds indigo into powder and dip-dyes the wool, then his wife Aurora hand weaves the yarn with natural cotton into these gorgeous textiles. It takes about eight days just to hand-tie the pretty tassels! Through this weeks-long process, the Sosas create unique pieces that can be worn as wraps or used at home as towels and decorative light-weight throws.
